Cruzin' along
In 2009, several milestone events, which are all part of life's rich tapestry, forced us to look at more personal niche technologies, with a health bent. Enter the next chapter in our Cruzbike story: Silvio.
In brief, we sold our three bicycles on bikeExchange.com.au (worked for me), purchased a Silvio frameset and built an amazing bike. The full story of the build is documented elsewhere, but suffice it to say it was a new manual skill set, and a new language to learn: framesets, bottom brackets, cranksets, wheelsets and so on. A good reference is the Park Tools Big Blue Book. All in all it was a very pleasant thing to do and a great bike to ride.
In 2010, we helped Kim Tolhurst, big brother of the Cruzbike designer, John Tolhurst, launch the Australian Cruzbiking site. A fun project, and a delight to build and maintain the site.
